Labour Partnership
United Way Waterloo Region is proud of its long-standing relationship with the
Waterloo Regional Labour Council (WRLC) and the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC)
— a partnership grounded in shared values of solidarity, fairness, and community
care.
Together, we recognize that real change happens when we unite. The WRLC and
CLC actively encourage and support workplace fundraising in unionized workplaces
across our region through campaigns and payroll donations, strengthening the
collective impact of their members.
In turn, United Way Waterloo Region acknowledges and celebrates the vital role that
organized labour plays in our outreach efforts and community engagement. We are
proud to support CLC training programs that help build capacity, leadership, and
advocacy skills locally.
At the heart of this partnership is a shared belief: strong, safe, and inclusive
communities are built on humane, responsive social services. By working together,
we help ensure that more people have access to the supports they need — fostering
healthier, more resilient communities for all.
