TMMC January Volunteer Week
This January, dedicated teams from Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC)
spent three days of their winter plant shutdown volunteering with nine United Way
Waterloo Region Communities-funded partners across Waterloo Region.
From preparing meals and sorting food to supporting shelter moves, organizing
storage spaces and helping community organizations prepare for what’s next, TMMC
volunteers brought energy, care and a willingness to pitch in wherever they were
needed. Their contributions included making pronoun pins for Camino Mental Health
+ Wellbeing, preparing meals for Kinbridge’s Neighbourhood Table, recycling
electronics with KW AccessAbility, supporting a shelter move with Cambridge Shelter
Corporation, preparing Compass Refugee Centre’s new office space, organizing the
YWCA Cambridge storage unit, supporting Argus Residence’s Uptown Thrift social
enterprise, sorting food at the Cambridge Food Bank, and helping Langs with holiday
take-down and volunteer package assembly.
Together, these hands-on efforts strengthened the capacity of local organizations and
helped create more welcoming, accessible and supportive spaces for people across
our community.
