In response to significant federal funding changes, the Immigration Partnership worked
to strengthen its resilience and long-term sustainability.
United Way Waterloo Region leaders worked alongside other Immigration Partnership
community leaders through a Funding Sub-Committee to develop a new funding model
and invite new investment to sustain the momentum of cross-sector efforts supporting
successful immigration and community prosperity. This work included supporting
delegations to municipal councils across Waterloo Region in support of the new
Waterloo Region Immigration Strategy, as well as developing a member contribution
framework designed to diversify and strengthen local investment in this important
community infrastructure.
Just as Volunteer Waterloo Region strengthens volunteerism across the region, the
Waterloo Region Immigration Partnership helps organizations build a more
welcoming and inclusive community for newcomers.
